Mike “Hawk” and Sandy James’ story is a testament to the spirit of determination and the pursuit of a dream In 1979, with a $5,000 loan from Hawk’s uncle, Bill Pape of Pape Paints in Fort Wayne, they embarked on their remarkable journey. Their initial location at Wells Street Crossing was humble, with sporadic customers and cherished moments in front of a television. A turning point came in 1984 when James Medical found its home at the corner of Lake and Anthony, thriving, thanks in part to Hawk’s strong relationships with Parkview Hospital staff. In 2004, a significant move led them to their current location on Coldwater Road. Beyond their entrepreneurial endeavors, Hawk and Sandy left an indelible mark on their family, friends, and the James Medical team. Their absence is deeply felt, but their legacy lives on.
